37 MSTF arrests Tuesday include juvenile wanted on 2nd degree murder charge, man for child sex assault

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Safe Task Force on Tuesday executed 37 arrests, including a juvenile charged with second-degree murder, and a 61-year-old man for sexual assault of a child.

A juvenile was charged with attempted second-degree murder after he was identified as a suspect in a gang-related shooting in Manhattan, New York, on Sept. 9, 2025. The victim was shot multiple times and survived. MSTF received a collateral lead from the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force and arrested the juvenile without incident at his mother’s residence in the 3400 block of Scenic Highway.

Andrew Jackson, 61, is charged with rape of a child and continuous sexual abuse of a child. MSTF developed information that Jackson was residing in Dallas and sent a collateral lead to the USMS North Texas Fugitive Task Force in Dallas. NTFTF conducted a warrant service at Jackson’s residence and took him into custody without incident. He is pending extradition to Shelby County.

“Both of these arrests are the result of collaborative leads sent from one jurisdiction to another,” said Tyreece Miller, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee. “Collaboration across jurisdictions ensures violent offenders cannot escape accountability, turning challenges into victories and fugitives into arrests.”

Since the launch of the Memphis Safe Task Force initiative, officers have made 10,441 arrests, including 97 for homicide, 1,162 for controlled substances, 1,004 for firearms violations, and 105 for sex offenses. Of those arrested, 304 were juveniles and 1,122 were known gang members. The task force has seized 1,784 illegal firearms. These enforcement actions reflect a sustained commitment to reducing violent crime and removing dangerous weapons from Memphis neighborhoods.

The Memphis Safe Task Force is a multi-agency initiative established via a Presidential Memorandum signed by President Donald Trump on Sept. 15, 2025. Aimed at addressing violent street crime, the task force coordinates federal, state, and local law enforcement and includes mobilized members of the Tennessee National Guard. The MSTF is focused on arresting violent criminals, clearing warrants, seizing firearms, and locating missing children. Since the operation began, the MSTF has located 154 missing children.

This operation reflects the MSTF’s commitment to coordinated enforcement efforts and its mission to identify, apprehend, and hold accountable those who pose a threat to public safety.
