From the Jackson Police Department
Jackson, TN – Investigators with the Jackson Police Department have made an arrest in connection with a homicide that occurred in the 100 block of Conger Street on the morning of Thursday, February 20, 2025.
Officers were initially dispatched to the area after a witness reported seeing a man lying on the ground next to a vacant residence. Quenteraqus Mckinnie, a 25-year-old man, was identified as the victim. Mr. Mckinnie suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures.
During the course of the investigation, a 17-year-old male was developed as the suspect in the shooting. The male juvenile was taken into custody on Monday, February 24, 2025, at approximately 10 a.m.
The suspect will be formally charged in the Madison County General Sessions Division II (Juvenile Court) for First Degree Murder.
