The wait is over and construction has started at the Great Wolf Lodge on an approximate 40-acre site at the Tiger Jones Technology Park off Interstate 40 at exit 85 near Rockabillys Stadium and the West Tennessee Sportsplex.
Original plans call for the road to the site to be developed off Dr. F.E. Wright Drive near Ridgecrest Road.
The $150 million-plus, 450-room Great Wolf Lodge is scheduled to create approximately 500 jobs — 250 full-time and 250 part-time positions. An additional 500 construction jobs would be filled over the course of the project.

All this new traffic coming and the city does NOTHING to improve the access roads in this area, especially the narrow I40 bridge and 1940s Christmasville Road!
The new connector road from FE Wright should go all the way to HWY 70 so people coming from Nashville direction can get off on Exit 87 instead of Exit 85; that will reduce congestion by 50%
Don’t be a grumpy ole’ turkey, Jim Britt. This is a great economic get for Jackson, and it’s great tourism dollars for West TN. Try to think outside of how it will inconvenience you and consider the positive economic impact. It’s a really good thing for kids, families, and visitors.
It’s never coming. Per the TN Property Assesor website, Great Wolf does not own any property in Jackson. I am also not aware of any formal contract between Great Wolf and the City of Jackson to lease the space. As far as I can tell, all they’re doing is prepping the site in the hopes that Great Wolf reconsiders Jackson after the city’s original bid to get Great Wolf back around 2020 failed and they picked another location.
All of this nonsense is WISHFUL THINKING. Santa Claus will come flying into Jackson with enough money to pay back all the bonds the finance committee has wasted before Great Wolf ever builds a park in this slum-town.
Not true, the wolf lodge paid $1 mil for the land. Their website states they broke ground on or around March 2025. It also states they have had several delays due to supply chain troubles and weather. Most corporations don’t use their same name to buy property or put their dba names/title on paperwork. It’s most likely under an umbrella company or lawyers name, to keep their business as private as possible. But regardless the company has the info on their website. So believe what you will…
I agree with you. What is here to bring great wolf lodge to Jackson. They can’t keep the roads drivable. There’s nothing else to do here. Why would they come. What is really going to be funny is all these hotels they are building and nothing comes.
When do you think it will open for the public
Please let me know when it is open. I want to
Bring my three granddaughters.
Dorothy and Ned, I can tell you both when it’s going to be open: NEVER
Every one of you should watch the old movie “Big Night” with Stanley Tucci and Tony Shalhoub. Pay close attention to the trick that Ian Holm’s character plays on the owners of the competing restaurant. That’s what’s being done to the citizens of Jackson.
Joe, the Great Wolf Lodge website does not list Jackson as a future location. The work being done at the “future home of Great Wolf Lodge” is being done by the city and local business groups who want to entice Great Wolf to come to Jackson. It’s not being done by Great Wolf itself, because they are NEVER COMING. Even if they did sign something, which I doubt they did, do you think a few hundred grand for a hypothetical breach of contract means anything to a mega corporation? Supermarkets do it all the time – buy 10 pieces of land on a TIF contract, open 1 store and pay the breach of contract fine for the other 9. It’s a drop in the bucket to mega corporations. The City of Jackson can have all of the bogus ribbon cuttings and ceremonies they want. It’s just smoke and mirrors so that the city can use the supposed future earnings (which will probably be a net negative when you account for TIF and how low the revenue from the hotel tax is) for collateral to borrow against because the city is bankrupt.
