From the Jackson-Madison County School System
Due to the winter storm warning set to take effect tomorrow, our district will dismiss early on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025 to ensure the safety of our students, families, and employees.
Middle and high schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m.
Elementary schools will dismiss at 2 p.m.
Students will receive both breakfast and lunch before dismissal. Our teachers may provide assignments and learning activities for students to complete, as the anticipated winter weather could cause closures later in the week.
Making this announcement now will assist families in planning. Our operations team is in constant contact with local emergency management officials and the National Weather Service, and this decision was not made lightly.
Getting our families home safely remains our top priority. We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates on any additional closures. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. As a reminder, families are encouraged to use the Let’s Talk platform to communicate directly with school and district leaders. Stay tuned and safe!
