Reggi’s BBQ & Wings, 292 Parkstone Place in East Park Place – near the West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex – will host a Super Bowl Wing Eating Contest, Sunday.
The public is invited to attend the contest, which begins at 1:30 p.m., when five contestants will see who can consume the most wings in a 15 minutes, with the winner receiving a $25 gift card from Reggi’s.
The main event follows at 2 p.m., when five contestants try to consume six scorpion wings – if possible – in a 10 minute time span.
The winner – after he or she cools off – will be presented a $50 gift card from Reggi’s.
“The only Sunday we’re open is Super Bowl Sunday,” Eugene (Reggi) Pickett said. “We want to make this an annual event, and we’ll be prepared.”
Preparations include a special section for the contest, with gloves, goggles and milk for those participating in the scorpion wings eating contest.
Reggi’s will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday.
