The West Tennessee Area Council of Scouting America held its inaugural ‘Sneakin’ Out Sneaker Ball’ at St. Mary’s Holy Family Hall in Jackson, Saturday.
Guests donned their favorite sneakers and gala attire and enjoyed dinner, dancing, a silent auction and a photo booth.
Ten local community leaders were ambassadors for this event, agreeing to raise funds and participate in a sneaker fashion show, hosted by Susan Davie of Golden Media Group.
Charles Byrd – Byrd & Byrd Attorney at Law – won the Golden Sneaker trophy by acquiring the most votes from attendees.
Charles wore a custom pair of high top tennis shoes that he designed himself featuring the “Be Prepared” logo and scout emblems.
Jeremy Chandler, owner of Farmers Insurance, was a close second with his pickleball themed ensemble as he crossed the stage wearing a headband and wielding a pickleball paddle.
“Gina (Langley, Golden Media Group) gave everyone something to ‘Talk’ about as she rocked the runway with custom Nikes with the Talk-N-West TN logo,” Susan Davie said.
The event raised money for improvements at Camp Mack Morris and educational programming throughout West Tennessee.
“The event was a smashing success, exceeding donation expectations for every aspect,” Madeline Hudson said. “We could not be more grateful to the amazing local leaders who assisted us in raising funds and participated in the fashion show.”
Madaline Hudson serves as Vice President of Fund Development for the West TN Area Council of Scouting America and event coordinator for Sneakin’ Out.
