The West Tennessee Healthcare Board of Trustees approved three resolutions when they held their July meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.
The Board approved the purchase of 12 bedside monitors in Cardiovascular ICU with associated supplies and labor at a cost of $594,922.43 of budgeted District funds.
It was determined the existing monitors are at the end of life and the replace monitors are needed to ensure interoperability and continuous patient monitoring between the Operating Room and the Cardiovascular ICU for patients having heart surgery and other heart related procedures.
Trustees approved the purchase of 14 arthroscopic and laparoscopic systems, along with the arthroscopes, laparoscopes, 1080p monitors, recording systems, cameras and other necessary equipment and supplies at a cost of $616,475 from budgeted District funds plus a five-year service contract at a cost of $218,092.
The final resolution was the approved purchase of three new ambulances to provide more efficient service to patients in West Tennessee, and Medical Center EMS will be providing ambulance and dispatch services in McNairy County beginning in September.
The cost of each ambulance is $178,469, and the total cost is $535,407 of budgeted District funds.
