(August 1, 2013) Jackson, Tennessee – West Tennessee Healthcare is bringing its annual free health fair out into the Jackson communities!
Bobby Arnold, President and CEO of West Tennessee Healthcare, said they decided to move the annual health fair traditionally held at the Carl Perkins Civic Center to different areas of the city to encourage residents to take advantage of the free services.
Arnold said "West Tennessee Healthcare is committed to improving the health of our community and we want to make our free screenings as accessible as possible." Earlier this year, WTH participated in a health fair at T.R. White Sportsplex in East Jackson. The upcoming events will provide screenings in a variety of other areas,
There will be four “Neighborhood Health Fairs” with free adult screenings and free exhibits at the following dates and locations around Jackson:
Saturday, August 24 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. The LIFT Wellness Center
101 Jackson Walk Plaza
Saturday, September 7 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. Bethlehem Baptist Church in
Denmark/Mercer
183 Maple Springs Road
Saturday, October 5 8 a.m.-11 a.m. Malesus Baptist Church
480 Old Malesus Road
Saturday, October 19 8 a.m.-11 a.m. Liberty Park

All of the locations will offer the same services including adult screenings for bone density, blood pressure, grip strength, vision, body mass, balance and on- line ” awares” testing. Sports Plus, the LIFT, Kirkland Cancer Center, West Tennessee Heart and Vascular Center, West Tennessee Women’s Center, Neuroscience and Spine Center, the MAC Club, Medical Center EMS and the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation Community Anti-Drug Coalition will all have exhibits available.
