JACKSON Tenn — Alcohol Countermeasures Team performing sobriety checkpoints & increased DUI enforcement throughout city this weekend
As part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of the citizens of Jackson, the Jackson Police Department’s Alcohol Countermeasures Team will be performing Sobriety Checkpoints and increased DUI enforcement throughout the city this weekend.
There will be a Sobriety Checkpoint on Friday, 26 September 2014, from 2330 until 0115 on North Parkway east of North Royal, and one Saturday, 27 September 2014 from 0145 until 0345 on Hollywood at Old Hickory Blvd.
During these Sobriety Checkpoints and increased DUI enforcement, officers will concentrate their efforts on removing impaired drivers from the roadways before they can cause any unnecessary injuries or deaths.
Lt Ron Adams tells WNWS, “motorists are reminded that as non-compliance with the safety belt and child restraint laws place people in danger these laws will be vigorously enforced as well.”
This project funded solely by the Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office.
