With a completion date set for May 31, 2018, on the US Highway 45 Bypass, WNWS.COM obtained drone photographs and video Click Here from Wes Harris, a State Farm Insurance agent in Jackson.
Construction work on the US Highway 45 Bypass and Interstate 40 are part of the IMPROVE Act -“Improving Manufacturing, Public Roads and Opportunities for a Vibrant Economy” – a proposal introduced by Governor Bill Haslam in January earmarked to help fund the state’s $10 billion backlog in road projects.
Planned improvement projects will also incorporate widening from four lanes to six lanes of Interstate 40 just east of exit 79 at Hollywood Drive to just east of exit 82 at U.S. 70 East.
When the Keith Short Bypass was built in 1964, it had an average of 3,180 vehicles per day.
The number surpasses the 50,000 mark, today.
