From the Jackson Rockabillys –
Jackson, Tennessee – The crowd turned out in throngs to honor and show tribute to the reigning NCAA National Champion University of Tennessee Volunteers taking on the Troy University Trojans at beautiful Rockabillys Stadium, Sunday.
With lines of thousands waiting to pour in when the gates opened at 10:30 a.m., for the high noon contest, the stadium roared when Coach Tony Vitello was presented the key to the City of Jackson by Mayor Scott Conger in Jackson’s recognition and honoring their June 2024 National Championship.
With a cloudless sky and temperatures in the perfect 70’s, UT defeated the Trojans in an arranged 16-inning affair, 11-6.
Several thousand (6,600) in attendance took advantage of another spectacular feature, as they could have their picture taken standing next to the National Championship trophy in front of an amazing UT custom backdrop on the Rockabillys-Le Bonheur pavilion stage.
Needless to say, the region and state showed out and exemplified their pride for the Volunteers, the 2024 National Champions!
