Northbound lane on Highway 45 South is open
Press release from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department –
County Sheriff John Mehr reports that our Deputies assisted the Tennessee Highway Patrol this morning when two separate accidents occurred.
MCSO responded to a call at 7:45 to the 2400 block of Highway 45 South.
A northbound 18 wheeler ran off the road and struck a utility pole, knocking down wires that crossed all 4 lanes.
A southbound 18 wheeler then caught caught up in the wires, forcing the closing of all four lanes that caused a 2 ½ hour traffic tie up.
No injuries were reported.
However while this accident was being work, a second accident occurred further south that did result with injuries. That accident was worked by the T.H.P.
