One person was taken to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after an automobile struck a utility pole on North Highland Avenue near Carriage House Drive, Sunday.
According to the Jackson Police Department, the injuries were minor.
The vehicle that struck a utility pole at 11:52 a.m., Sunday, caused a power outage to a substation circuit that affected 662 customers.
“JEA crews responded and performed circuit switching to get as many customers back on as possible and isolate the outage to a small area by 12:45 p.m.,” said Monte Cooper, PE, Sr. VP Electric Division, Jackson Energy Authority, “JEA crews then proceeded to change out the broken pole which took a few more hours.”
