United States Marshals Service recognizes Lexington Police Officers for assistance in finding missing child

Lexington, TN – On April 15, 2026, members of the U.S. Marshals Service in the Western District of Tennessee and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation honored the Lexington Police Department for their vital assistance in finding a child who had been missing for nearly three years.

“I want to thank Lexington Police Chief Jeff Middleton and recognize these officers for their professionalism and heroic actions,” said U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller.

Marshal Miller presented Certificates of Appreciation to Sergeant Joseph Barnes, Officer Chad Hollingshead, Investigator Tonya Marshall, Sergeant Zach Siegler, and Officer Justin Yarbrough.

On July 13, 2023, a 13-year-old child was reporting missing to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Nashville detectives developed information that the child was possibly in Lexington. After a further investigation, on March 2, 2026, Lexington police, Deputy marshals, and TBI found the now 15-year-old child safe.
