BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Union University third baseman Hudson Cepparulo has been named GSC Freshman of the Week after an excellent showing in the team’s three-game sweep of Auburn Montgomery.

Cepparulo finished the Bulldogs’ five-game week 6-15 (.429) with a double, a triple, and eight RBI. After going 0-4 between Union’s Wednesday contests with #10 Young Harris, Cepparulo opened the AUM set – which he’d finish 6-10 – with a 3-4 outing and a two-run triple.

Cepparulo reached base twice in the middle game with a walk and a double before rounding out his week 2-4.

All told, the Paris, Tenn., product slugged .643, scored three runs, and posted an OPS of 1.081.

Cepparulo also claimed the season’s first Freshman of the Week honors on February 4, while Carter Daniel earned the recognition on April 1.

Union will continue GSC play with a Friday showdown at Montevallo (5 p.m.) and a Saturday doubleheader (noon).
