The September Unemployment rates are late due to the Government shutdown.

Highlights from the September 2025 Labor Force Estimates 

• The Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate for Tennessee remained at 3.6% in September.
• Over the month, the Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate for the United States increased to 4.4% from 4.3%.
• The unemployment rate remained under 5% in 91 of 95 counties in September.
• Sevier and Williamson counties had the lowest unemployment
