Tiptonville, Tenn. – On September 8th, 2023, U.S. Marshals, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, and Tiptonville Police Department captured an Illinois murder fugitive in West Tennessee.

Eric Hardy, 32, of Decatur, IL, was wanted for First Degree Murder for an alleged crime that occurred on September 1 in Decatur, IL.

Hardy then fled to Tiptonville in Lake County, TN.

After a request for assistance, the case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Jackson, TN.

The fugitive investigation led the task force to a residence on Wynn Street in Tiptonville. Hardy was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Lake County Jail.
