Jackson, TN – On June 18, 2025, the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) and Jackson Police Department (JPD) arrested a man on federal charges of Possession of a Machine Gun.
In December 2024, Chandler Black, 21, of Jackson, was arrested by the Tennessee Highway Patrol in Madison County on state charges of DUI, possession of a handgun while intoxicated, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) adopted the case for a federal investigation due to Chandler in possession of a Glock switch handgun. On Monday, June 16, 2025, ATF presented the case to a federal grand jury in Jackson, and Chandler was indicted for possession of a machine gun.
U.S. Marshals were requested to assist in apprehending Chandler. On June 18, Deputy marshals, task force officers, and JPD went to an address on Mossy Oak Trail in Jackson to arrest Black. After the USMS knocked on the door and observed a man inside who refused to open the door, Marshals forced entry. Black was found inside and taken into custody.
JPD obtained a search warrant for the residence and found illegal narcotics and three handguns inside. Another man was detained by JPD as their investigation is ongoing.
Black will have his initial appearance in federal court in Jackson on Friday, June 20.
