Union City, TN – On June 4, 2026, the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force captured an Illinois parole absconder in West Tennessee. A female acquaintance was also arrested for making a false report to Investigators.

William Huggins, 42, was wanted on an absconder warrant. He was on parole for Aggravated Battery Against a Peace Officer.

On January 4, 2026, the USMS in the Southern District of Illinois began searching for Huggins after receiving a request from the Illinois Department of Correction. The USMS in Illinois developed information that Huggins was possibly in West Tennessee and sent a collateral lead to the Task Force in the Jackson Office.

Deputy marshals and task force officers tracked Huggins to a residence in the 6000 block of Bell Lane in Union City.

Lydia Shiew, 60, made false statements to Investigators about Huggins being inside the residence. Subsequently, he was found inside. Shiew was charged with False Police Report.
