TVA vice-president, CFO visits Jackson Energy Authority’s Board of Directors

John Thomas, executive vice president and Chief Financial Officer with the Tennessee Valley Authority, discussed a variety of issues when he visited with the Board of Directors at Jackson Energy Authority, Thursday.

“We talked to the Board about the partnership we have with Jackson Energy Authority in the Tennessee Valley, the economy, commodities – which is a large part of the bill the customers pay and what TVA has been doing over the last six years to provide for low-cost, high-reliability … things we’re doing to make sure rates are as low as they can possibly be in the Tennessee Valley.”

Thomas called the partnership TVA has with JEA ‘tremendous.’

“We really appreciate the support and partnership with JEA,” Thomas said, “We’ve worked together on a lot of economic development projects of which the Jackson area has done quite well in this economy with its industrial customers (and) also in terms of what we’re doing to make sure that adjustments TVA needs to make that helps them them better serve their customers that we take action on.”
