Tracy Boyd, BLM activist, withdraws from City Council consideration; moving to Calif., asks for donations

Tracy Boyd, a BLM activist, has withdrawn his name for consideration for the District 4 Jackson City Council seat.

On his Facebook Page, Boyd said, “I am formally withdrawing my name from the appointment selection for The Jackson City Council, District 4. I’m no longer interested. It ain’t the time.

“I’m moving to California! I’ve signed a job offer and my assignment begins next month. I want your help in this transition. To donate financially, reach out to me, please ($DoctorESQ)”

Boyd was one of six applicants looking to fill the District 4 seat of deceased council member Harvey Buchanan.

The new councilmember will be selected during the January 6 council meeting.

Harvey Buchanan, who passed away December 3, was elected City Council Representative for District Four in May 1995.

On his application, Boyd listed agreement preparation, professional ethics understanding, legal knowledge, conflict resolution, deductive reasoning, attention to detail and problem solving among his skills.

“I have 4,672 Facebook Friends,” Boyd said on Facebook, “Some of y’all suppport my work, and some of y’all sitting around lurking to see what I’mma do next…. So I’ll include y’all too. It’s for a GREAT CAUSE
I’m moving to California next month to start a new assignment. If all my Facebook friends sent my cashapp JUST $1, I would have met my relocation goal. May I have JUST A $1.”
