With four weeks remaining until Election Day, Chris Todd picked up a coveted endorsement from the National Federation of Independent Business at the Old Country Store, Tuesday.
Todd is the Republican nominee for the Tennessee House of Representatives in District 73.
“Having the 6,000 plus members of NFIB behind me means so much to my campaign,” Todd said, “I can’t thank them enough for this endorsement, their financial contribution, individual contributions, and calls of support throughout the primary and now the general election.
“I look forward to serving Madison County in the Legislature – if I’m successful in November – and having those NFIB members know I will have their backs in the Legislature as well – those in Madison County and the state.”
Todd said his approach to the Nov. 6 General Election is the same as it was in the primary.
“The strategy is the same, and we’re (also) very motivated to get Bill Lee elected (governor) and Marsha Blackburn elected (U.S. Senate). We want to make sure the conservatives of this area get out to vote and not take anything for granted.”
Jim Brown, Tennessee’s state director of the National Federation of Independent Business, considered the person as well as the prospective politician when endorsing Todd.
“Chris Todd is one of the best people, individuals, that I’ve worked with in my 14 years at NFIB,” Brown said, “He’s been a member for about eight, nine years now, and he’s been on the leadership council.”
Brown said Todd served as chairman of the leadership council chairman, and he has also served on the advisory council of the NFIB.
“He’s one of the real experts on environmental issues – that’s his business – Envirogreen,” Brown said. “I depend on him personally when there are tough times (in Nashville), when there is a tough bill.
“He is a man of integrity, a man of passion and a man of reason … he is what you want as a state representative.”
