Alabama enters its football game against Clemson for the NCAA National Championship as a five-point favorite, and Jackson property developers find themselves in agreement.
NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM & WNWS.COM asked Jeff Brasfield, Hal Crocker, Gary Taylor and Ann-Marie Kelley for their take on the game, and a prediction.
“Both Alabama and Clemson have excellent head coaches, but statistically, Alabama has had better recruiting classes over the last five years – in my opinion. Clemson is not that far behind, which makes this a little tough, but my prediction is based on talent on the field, where Alabama has an edge. My pick? Alabama, 35-21.” – Jeff Brasfield, president Brasfield Construction Company
“Clemson has a great team this year, but I find it hard to bet against (Alabama head coach) Nick Saban. He usually finds a way to win even in the toughest match-ups. Alabama, 34-30.” – Hal Crocker, president/CEO, Crocker Construction Company
“I think it will be a good, close game. Alabama’s offensive line will attempt to control the line of scrimmage, and will try to slow down the game by running the ball. We know ‘Bama has a well-conditioned, all around great team, led by Nick Saban, arguably the best coach in college football.
“Clemson will stretch the field … but the key for Alabama is putting pressure on Clemson’s quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who is pro-ready. He will have over 35 pass attempts, and if Alabama fails at disrupting (Lawrence), Clemson – who has a good set of running backs, plus four wide receivers – has a chance at winning. – Alabama 31, Clemson 27.” – Gary Taylor, president, Gary A. Taylor Investment Company
“Our family is from Alabama, and we love the Crimson Tide … so much that we are attending the National Championship game, today.
“Our defense is impressive every year, and offensively (quarterback) Tua (Tagovailoa) is dominant, and Nick Saban is by far, overall the best college football coach in history. Of course I believe Alabama will win the National title. Alabama 31, Clemson 14.” – Ann-Marie Kelley, executive vice-president FirstChoice Property & Development
