Jeremy Beaulieu, De’Ontay Tate, and J’Kobi Reddick produced a trifecta for the Bethel University Wildcats football program, Monday.
The three have been named the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Football Players of the Week – a first for the school.
MSC Bluegrass Defensive Player of the Week
Jeremy Beaulieu, a junior linebacker from Jacksonville, Fla., led the Bethel defense with 13 tackles – four solo – in its 31-21 upset of No. 2 Reinhardt (Georgia) University, Thursday.
Beaulieu, who earned his MSC Player of the Week award in his career, helped Bethel limit Reinhardt to 34 passing yards on 17 attempts.
MSC Bluegrass Offensive Player of the Week
De’Ontay Tate, a sophomore running back from Knoxville, rushed for 153 yards and one touchdown – a 71 yard run.
The Wildcats rushing attack produced 181 yards against a Reinhardt defense that allowed only 70 yards per game on the ground in 2017.
Tate averaged 11.8 yards per rush on his 13 attempts.
MSC Bluegrass Special Teams Player of the Week
J’Kobi Reddick, a sophomore defensive back from Tampa, Fla., returned four punts for a total of 89 yards and one touchdown in Bethel’s win.
A 62-yard return for a touchdown sparked a 21-0 run to secure the win for Bethel.
Reddick added three kickoff returns for 49 total yards.
He also had some action on the offensive side of the ball, rushing for two yards while adding 31 yards on pass receptions.
He leads the MSC after one week with 171 all-purpose yards.
