The University School of Jackson invites you to attend a presentation by David Magee, the bestselling author of the award-winning Dear William: A Father’s Memoir of Addiction, Recovery, Love and Loss.
Students, and therefore families, face an unprecedented mental health crisis resulting in anxiety, depression, substance misuse, eating disorder, and suicide ideation — and David Magee delivers a powerful, inspiring message outlining both the problems facing our children today and some solutions.
Since 2021, David has engaged with more than 15,000 students and 5,000 parents and teachers in states including Georgia, Mississippi, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Texas, and as a result, helped many students get into counseling or treatment, with some already experiencing life-changing results thanks to his educational and stigma-breaking message.
David’s forthcoming book is Things Have Changed: What Every Parent (and Educator) Should Know About the Student Mental Health, Substance Misuse Crisis (August 8, 2023).
The University School of Jackson hopes you will join us for this forum on Tuesday, February 28, at 6:30 p.m., in the Blankenship Theater. This event is free and open to the public.
