A few divots are being filled throughout Jackson and Madison County, and Union University Drive – the main artery that runs through Thomsen Farms is no different.

“It’s going pretty smooth for us, and the work has not had a big impact on us,” Timm Johnson said. “In fact, the construction workers are coming over to eat here.”

Timm Johnson owns the Green Frog Coffee Company at 1410 Union University Drive.

From what he understands, Timm said the road work will be completed by the end of the week.

“At the earliest,” Timm said. “We’re not immune to the same problems as other roads in the city and county. But (workers) are applying a new fix … rather than just asphalt, they are digging down and putting in large rocks, then pouring three-to-four inches of concrete on top of that -and then asphalt.”
