A check for $500 was presented to the American Heart Association for it’s annual ‘Go Red For Women’ campaign, at The Blacksmith Restaurant, Friday.

“The Blacksmith was so kind to partner with Caitlin Roach, one of our 2021 Women of Impact nominees by raising funds through different heart healthy menu items,” Christy Futrell said, “For every menu item ordered, Blacksmith’s would donate money.”

The American Heart Association’s 2021 Women of Impact is sponsored by Leaders Credit Union.

“We are so excited to partner with Jared Page (operating partner) The Blacksmith Restaurant, and we are so excited for their generosity and Caitlin’s creativity to come up with this idea to raise an additional $500.”

The campaign began Feb. 5 and in six weeks, $53,000 has been raised.

Marda Wallace is the inaugural 2021 ‘Women of Impact’ campaign chair for the American Heart Association, which has 21 ladies competing to raise funds.

Stan Harris is the ‘Go Red For Women,’ 2021 campaign chair.
