Tennessee Sales Tax Holiday August 2, 3, and 4

(August 2-4) Nashville, Tenn.- The 7th Annual Sales Tax Holiday will be August 2, 3, and 4 according to a release from the Department of Revenue. 

 

During the sales tax holiday, customers won’t have to pay state or local sales tax on clothing or school supplies $100 or less per item. Computers, laptops, ot tablets that are $1,500 or less also qualifiy as tax-exempt.

 

Revenue Commissioner Richard H. Roberts says that ,“As in years past, last year's tax-free weekend was very successful, providing Tennessee taxpayers over $10 million in tax savings.”

 

The sales tax holiday begins on August 2 at 12:01AM and concludes on August 4 at 11:59PM. For more information, visit www.tntaxholiday.com. There, you can also find examples of items in each of the tax-exempt categories.
