MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Safe Task Force on Thursday executed 42 arrest warrants and recovered 14 firearms.
Of note:
Tracy Vaughn, 18, was arrested without incident in the 4600 block of Spring Valley Drive on an outstanding warrant for first-degree murder issued Wednesday.
Timothy Seals, 37, was arrested in the 7000 block of Cobblestone Drive on a warrant for vehicular homicide issued May 18. Seals initially refused MSTF officers’ commands to exit the residence, but he eventually complied and was taken into custody.
Carlos Greer, 32, was arrested without incident in the 800 block of Buntyn Road on a warrant issued May 7 for rape of a child.
Ben Berry, 33, was arrested in the 4700 block of Millbranch Road after MSTF members conducted a traffic stop on him and discovered he had an active arrest warrant issued May 26 for aggravated sexual battery and statutory rape by an authority figure.
Travis Briars, 43, was arrested by MSTF members executing a search warrant at Briar’s residence in the 3500 block of Hazelhedge Drive. Investigators located approximately 4 pounds of marijuana, approximately 44 ecstasy pills, approximately $9,203 in cash, two shotguns, four rifles, and three handguns. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute ecstasy, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Since the launch of the Memphis Safe Task Force initiative, officers have made 9,628 arrests, including 84 for homicide, 1,061 for controlled substances, 914 for firearms violations, and 105 for sex offenses. Of those arrested, 274 were juveniles and 1,018 were known gang members. The task force has seized 1,636 illegal firearms. These enforcement actions reflect a sustained commitment to reducing violent crime and removing dangerous weapons from Memphis neighborhoods.
The Memphis Safe Task Force (MSTF), a multi-agency initiative, was organized in September 2025 to combat violent crime in Memphis. It is composed of federal, state, and local law enforcement, as well as the Tennessee National Guard, and focuses on arresting violent criminals, clearing warrants, seizing firearms, and locating missing children. Since the operation began, the MSTF has located 150 missing children.
This operation reflects the MSTF’s commitment to coordinated enforcement efforts and its mission to identify, apprehend, and hold accountable those who pose a threat to public safety.
