Livestream series ‘Spark Plugs’ to help businesses during COVID-19 – Tuesdays & Thursdays

‘Spark Plugs’ is a series of informational livestreamed events hosted by the Jackson Chamber and theCO, designed to support and encourage business owners in this uncertain economy.

Spark Plugs is livestreamed on theCO’s Facebook page on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3 p.m., with the opportunity for viewers to submit questions online during the event. Recordings of past events are also available for those that cannot participate live.

These short sessions are a spin-off feature from the Spark monthly event series that helps ignite businesses with networking, learning and speakers for business growth. These ‘spark plugs’ of information are livestreamed with different guests and topics to address concerns and answer questions.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers on hold due to COVID-19

Originally scheduled to open April 28, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, 2841 Highway 45 Bypass, has put its opening on hold due to COVID-19.

Opening the drive-thru only was an option, but management decided against interviews and training a large number of people assembled in the same area.

A new projected opening date has not been announced.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is an American fast-casual restaurant chain based in Wichita, Kansas.

Its menu includes steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs, chicken sandwiches – and the company provides frozen custard with a variety of specialty sundaes and concretes.

Freddy’s is located in 33 states – with 11 either open or opening in Tennessee.

Leaders Credit Union provides members with extended drive-thru hours; COVID-19 Relief Programs

Leaders Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative based in Jackson, Tenn., responds to COVID-19 with an updated service style to keep members and staff safe while still providing service excellence to members.

According to a press release from Janet Wylie – Leaders Credit Union Marketing Specialist – Leaders has implemented “lobbyless banking,” and has extended their drive-thru hours to 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., weekdays at all locations. Members may still make appointments to see a Member Service Representative or Mortgage Loan Originator weekdays between the hours of 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

“During this time of uncertainty, we understand that we have a responsibility to both our members and our staff to go above and beyond,” President & CEO Todd Swims said. “We believe our lobbyless strategy and extended hours are the best balance of both safety and service.”

Leaders has also implemented new programs to alleviate worry and stress during this crisis through their COVID-19 Relief Program. The program provides options for existing members who have been affected by the pandemic, and members are encouraged to call if they have been affected because of COVID-19 or need help to cover income loss or additional childcare expenses. Leaders members may also conduct business as usual via the Leaders mobile app and internet banking portals. Inside these platforms, members can check balances, deposit checks, transfer money, pay friends and family, apply for loans and mortgages, even Live Chat with the front-line and more.

Local real estate principal makes suggestions for landlords & tenants concerning rental property

Based on conversations Brandon Buchanan – Buchanan Realty Group – has had with landlords and tenants, he wanted to share some thoughts with NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM & WNWS.COM concerning rents and Landlord/Tenant relations.

“Since we work with both, I wanted to share the perspective of each,” Buchanan said, “However, I’m not an attorney or an accountant, and I would advise consulting with one prior to signing any lease amendments or loan agreement.
