Demolition continues at C&C Wine & Liquor
Demolition continues on the facility that housed C&C Wine & Liquor, 2644 North Highland Avenue.
According to a note posted on C&C’s Facebook page, a ground breaking will be held for a new building once demolition has been completed.
Fire destroyed C&C Wine & Liquor – and Elite Vapor – which leased a portion of the building, Oct. 6, 2019.
Bud Heath, who owns the business, relocated to the 8,000-square-foot facility from 2030 N. Highland Ave., in September, 2016.
The facility was the former home of Say Grace Classic Southern Dining.

RIFA receives $4,601.04 donation from Chicken Salad Chick
A steady rain didn’t put a damper on a check presentation Chicken Salad Chick made to the Regional Inter-Faith Association, Wednesday.
RIFA received $4,601.04 from a ‘Giving Card,’ Chicken Salad Chick offers to its customers.
“Our Giving Card is a $5 donation, and in exchange for the card (customers) receive a card worth $60 worth of discounts, deals and promotions to use here at Chicken Salad Chick,” Michelle Durbin said, “We’re always trying to do things for the community, and we chose RIFA.”
Michelle, general manager of Jackson’s Chicken Salad Chick, said the Giving Card – which is offered during a two-month period – produced $998, in 2019.
She added 1,004 Giving Cards were purchased.
“This is a very generous donation,” said Lisa Tillman, RIFA’s executive director, “It helps fight hunger in our community, and we are thrilled Chicken Salad Chick chose us again, this year.”
Chicken Salad Chick, 1128 Vann Drive, is a restaurant chain and catering company that opened April 5, 2017.
Hub City Deli opens on Pleasant Plains Extension
Hub City Deli, 2062 Pleasant Plains Extension, has opened.
Sandwiches, salads and wraps are just a few of the menu items.
A variety of beverages will include Craft beer.
Owned by Peter Thomas, the 2,800-square-foot facility, opens at 11 a.m., Monday through Saturday.
Red Hook Cajun Seafood & Bar opens Monday
Red Hook Cajun Seafood & Bar, 363 North Parkway, will open at 11:30 a.m., Monday, February 17.
Business hours are 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday.
Seating will be available for 100 plus customers.
Besides Jackson, the Bartlett-based Red Hook Cajun Seafood & Bar – Family of Restaurants – is also located in Memphis at 3295 Poplar Avenue in Memphis and San Antonio.
A fifth location is scheduled to open in Memphis at Wolfchase Mall.
