Terri Snider had reason to celebrate, Tuesday.

She was announced as the winner of a Hot Tub, valued at $7,000, when Aloha Pools & Spas and ‘Bucket List 101,’ continued the popular giveaway for the fourth consecutive year.

The event was broadcast live from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., on NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM with a crowd of hopefuls from Aloha Pools & Spas, 614 Carriage House Drive, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

WTH Trustees upgrade Microsoft Exchange; updated on 3-Star rating from STS

The West Tennessee Healthcare Board of Trustees approved a resolution to upgrade Microsoft Exchange, during its monthly meeting, which was held at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

The purchase and implementation of the new Exchange and Server System will cost $424,100 of budgeted District funds.

The Board also was given an update on a distinguished three-star rating Jackson-Madison County General Hospital earned from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) for its patient care and outcomes in isolated coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) procedures.

The three-star rating, which denotes the highest category of quality, places Jackson-Madison County General Hospital among the elite for heart bypass surgery in the United States and Canada.

The STS star rating system is one of the most sophisticated and highly regarded overall measures of quality in health care, rating the benchmarked outcomes of cardiothoracic surgery programs across the United States and Canada.

The star rating is calculated using a combination of quality measures for specific procedures performed by an STS Adult Cardiac Surgery Database participant.

Robin Surratt, a 32-year employee with West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital, received West Tennessee Healthcare’s employee of the month award for November.

Tina Prescott, WTH Chief Operating Officer – presented the award to Robin – who works in the Radiology Department at Dyersburg Hospital.

Redhook Cajun Seafood & Bar opening on North Parkway

Redhook Cajun Seafood & Bar is opening at 363 North Parkway, the former home of Hiko Grill & Buffet.

Besides Jackson, the Bartlett-based Redhook Cajun Seafood & Bar is in the process of opening new locations in Memphis and San Antonio.

Jackson Energy Authority – Board approves 7 resolutions during monthly meeting

The Jackson Energy Authority Board of Directors passed seven resolutions, during its monthly meeting at the Tennergy Center, Tuesday.

The Board –

Authorized the purchase of 12-inch ductile iron pipe for water main extension along Windy City Road for new development – Southern Pipe Supply Co., Horn Lake, Mississippi, submitted the low bid of $62,832.

Authorized the purchase of an enterprise backup and recovery solution.

Adopted telecommunications service rate adjustments – Channel 2 through 23, the rate increases $2.90 to $38.65. Channel 2 through 83, the rate increases $5.70 to $99.95.

Authorized JEA to execute an agreement with Harmonic, Inc., for VOS SaaS services for the Telecommunications Division – the amount is not to exceed $200,000.

Authorized the purchase of Viavi Gigastor 32T for the Telecom Division – SHI International Corp., Austin, Texas, submitted the low bid of $74,351.53.

Approved 1) administrator of JEA’s medical and dental insurance plan; 2) approved provider of reinsurance for medical plan; 3) approved provider of life/accidental death and dismemberment and long-term disability insurance.

Reaffirmed JEA’s Identity Theft Prevention Policy and included procedures to comply with revisions of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act.
