West Tennessee Healthcare – Robin Surratt named employee of the month

Robin Surratt, a 32-year employee with West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital, has been named the West Tennessee Healthcare employee of the month for November.

Tina Prescott, WTH Chief Operating Officer – presented the award to Robin – who works in the Radiology Department at Dyersburg Hospital – when the Board of Trustees held its monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Friday.

Reba Celsor, Dyersburg Hospital administrator, was in attendance for the presentation.

She is described by coworkers as a “wonderful and an awesome representative of this corporation … always courteous, and takes the time to do her job well.”

Renovations continue for new credit union on Channing Way

Renovations continue at 10 Channing Way to transform a former pharmacy into First South Financial Credit Union.

An opening date has not been announced.

First South Financial Credit Union, with locations in Tennessee and Mississippi, purchased the building that was home to Phipps Pharmacy for $425,000.

REAL ESTATE – Market report for Jackson-Madison County

Wes Harris, State Farm Insurance Agent – home, auto, life & banking – 319 Vann Drive, sponsors the Real Estate Market Report.

According to the Multiple Listing Service, new homes for sale in Jackson in October stood at 34, compared to 39 for the same period in 2018.

New construction homes sold January 1 through October 31, was 115, compared to 91 for the same period in 2018.

The number of homes on the market, which includes all of Madison County through October 31, stood at 303

Average days on the market – January 1 through October 31, was 50.

The average sales price for a home year to date is $174,804 compared to $168,285 for the same period in 2018.

Hub City Deli opening on Pleasant Plains Extension

The build out continues at Hub City Deli, 2062 Pleasant Plains Extension.

Owner Peter Thomas hopes to have the 2,800-square-foot facility open before Christmas.

Sandwiches, salads and wraps are just a few of the menu items.

A variety of beverages will include Craft beer.
