INSOUTH Bank making inroads into Jackson

The financial district in Jackson is about to get even bigger.

InSouth Bank is moving to Thomsen Farms, and will open a branch at 1431 Union University Drive, before moving into a new facility on Exeter Road.

InSouth Bank purchased about four acres in Thomsen Farms for $1,851,300.

With corporate offices in Brownsville, Insouth Bank has branches in Covington, Atoka, Millington and Memphis.

Kroger parking lot in West Towne Commons being resurfaced

Management could not say when the project will be completed, but the parking lot at Kroger, 41 Stonebrook Place in West Towne Commons is being resurfaced and re-striped.

Store hours remain the same, 24 hours each day, seven days a week.

Work continues to correct infrastructure problems in Hamilton Hills Shopping Center

One building has been razed, and work continues on the parking lot at Hamilton Hills Shopping Center, at 581 Old Hickory Boulevard.

“We’re making repairs due to the storm water drainage system, which caused some damage to the building that was the former Asia Garden,” said Brandon Buchanan, Buchanan Realty Group, “It’s the same kind of issue Kroger had.”

Buchanan was making reference to infrastructure problems that occurred when a water line broke behind Kroger, 41 Stonebrook Place in West Towne Commons in late August, 2018.

Asia Garden Chinese & Japanese Restaurant remains in Hamilton Hills Shopping Center.

The popular restaurant relocated to 660 Carriage House Drive, from 581 Old Hickory Boulevard.

The building razed in Hamilton Hills was located between Dollar General and Harbor Freight Tools, and Buchanan said his company is in negotiations with Harbor Freight Tools about expansion.

Lisa Carmack Anderson wins ‘Bucket List 101’ Aloha Pools & Spas giveaway

Lisa Carmack Anderson will have her choice of a swimming pool, hot tub or $5,000 shopping spree after winning the ‘Bucket List 101’ Aloha Pools & Spas giveaway, Tuesday.

Anderson’s name was selected on NEWS/TALK 101.5 & WNWS.COM.

This is the third year Aloha Pools & Spas, 614 Carriage House Drive, and Susan Davie Cogdell have combined for this giveaway.

Now in its fourth year, ‘Bucket List 101,’ is hosted by Susan Davie Cogdell – NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM.

Range USA closes on North Highland Avenue

Range USA, 2310 North Highland Avenue, has closed.

Management could not be reached for comment, and its Facebook page has been deleted.

The company also closed its Memphis location on Whitten Road, Monday.

Starbucks opens inside Jackson-Madison County Hospital

Starbucks has opened inside Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Morrison’s, the food service vendor for Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, has the license for the franchise, which occupies 930-square-feet.

Open seven days a week, business hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

West Tennessee Healthcare – Jamie Hopkins named employee of the month

Jamie Hopkins, a pharmacist, is recognized as a trusted colleague who can always be counted on to provide clinical insight in a variety of patient care scenarios, has been named West Tennessee Healthcare’s employee of the month for April.

Deann Thelen, vice-president/CEO at West Tennessee Healthcare and Sherry Osborne, pharmacy executive director made the presentation when the West Tennessee Healthcare Board of Trustees held their monthly meeting, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.

According to a press release, Jamie has been an employee with West Tennessee Healthcare for 17 years and is viewed a valuable asset to the organization.

Her contributions improve patient care and the overall success of the organization.

Jamie is a leader in her department in every aspect, but especially in the residency program and antibiotic stewardship.

She is well respected by her peers and a great role model to the students that rotate through the hospital.

She is truly a kind, skilled, and hardworking pharmacist who is so deserving of this recognition.

Outside of her work, Jamie has two sweet children, is active in her church, and is a Girl Scout leader.
