Hub City Brewing opens, Saturday

Kenton Bryant and Jonathan Singleton take the stage for a sold out concert at Hub City Brewing at 7:30 p.m., today.

But not before the new 14,000-square-foot special events and community center opens at 11 a.m., in a building that was constructed in 1916 at 250 West Main Street.

“We offer a tap room that will seat about 100 and four bowling lanes,” said owner Jerry Corley, “We also have a full bar, outdoor patio, projector screens and an assembly area with about 4,000-square-feet with a full stage.”

The stage for entertainment is about 30-feet by 20-feet, with permanent sound and lighting.

Hub City Brewing also has a full brewery, where about nine different beers will be brewed and distributed across the state of Tennessee.

Corley also owns Rock N Dough + Brew Co., at 16 Jackson Walk.

An American chain restaurant that specializes in steaks and promotes a Western theme, Texas Roadhouse is being built by Buffalo Construction Company from Louisville, Kentucky, on a two-and-one-half acre site that was once home to one of the first buildings constructed on the west end of Vann Drive.

After 1 year suspension, Jackson convenience store given permission to sell beer

The Jackson Beer Board considered and approved four requests for permits – three business and one special occasion – during its monthly meeting at the City Council Chambers, Tuesday.

Zaid Alshaif, a representative for a business known as Zaid Group Inc., and owner of Goldline, a convenience store at 1819 Highway 45 Bypass, was issued a permit to sell, store and distribute beer for consumption off the premises.

Goldline is now able to sell beer for the first time since January 2018.

The license was revoked following a third offense for selling beer to minors.

Coyote Blues sets opening date for Thomsen Farms location

If all goes accordingly, Coyote Blues is scheduled to open at 1430 Union University Drive in Thomsen Farms, about one year after the popular restaurant closed at 4 Stonebridge Boulevard.

“We hope to open in March,” Barry Nabours said, “The right opportunity came along at that location, and basically, we’ll offer the same menu and a full bar.”

Nabours, who owns Coyote Blues, is franchising the restaurant from the previous owners.

Nabours said he expects to staff 25 to 30 employees.

The 2,600-square-foot location was home to Blue Coast Burrito, which opened July 2017.

Blue Coast Burrito closed January 17, 2019.
