In case you missed it, here’s a look back at a few business highlights for the past week.
New real estate firm headed for Thomsen Farms
Conner Real Estate is scheduled to open in early February 2018, at 409 Walker Road in Thomsen Farms.
Joey Conner owns Conner Real Estate, LLC, which was established in Brownsville, July 5, 2011, and is located at 225 Margin Street.
Conner Real Estate will join Bliss Salon, a hair salon offering the latest cuts, colors and hair styles, and Belle & Beau, a children’s boutique, at the Thomsen Farms location.
Property rezoned from residential to office at Oil Well and Pleasant Plains Road
One house has been demolished and a second awaits the wrecking ball on the northeast corner of Oil Well Road and Pleasant Plains Road, following the rezoning of two-plus acres of land.
The specifics are not known, and no plans have been submitted to the City of Jackson, but the property goes from residential to office.
The first house demolished stood on 1.16 acres of land at 635 Oil Well Road.
The house at 623 Oil Well Road stands on 1.22 acres of land.
Work at Ridgecrest Road remains a mystery
It appears the majority of us will remain in the dark for a while longer as grading work continues on land located on Ridgecrest Road – between Campbell Street and Dr. F.E. Wright Drive.
Management with Stonewater Place Apartments, which is located next to the grading site, say they have no idea what is in store for the property.
Also, according to Jackson and Madison County officials, no plans have been submitted and no permits have been issued.

Alexander Thompson Arnold adds 3 accounting firms, 7 new partners
Alexander Thompson Arnold PLLC (ATA) announces it has merged in Cannon & Company P.C., Fred H. Page & Co. Ltd., and Myriad CPA Group effective December 31, 2017.

Hilton Garden Inn opens on Vann Drive
Hilton Garden Inn opened December 21, and becomes the third hotel on the west side on the west side of Vann Drive.
Located at 1324 Vann Drive, the four-story hotel offers 98 units, an outdoor pool with additional outdoor seating away from the pool.
RA-LIN and Associates, Inc., of Carrollton, Georgia, constructed the hotel for Peachtree Hospitality Management, LLC, on 2.46 acres near Howard Johnson Inn, 1292 Vann Drive, and the Fairfield Inn & Suites, 1335 Vann Drive.
