Mega Mart giving way to convenience store chain from Alabama
Mega Mart, 1400 Highway 70 East has been sold to a convenience store chain from Alabama.
Papa Jack’s Inc., a chain of gas stations/convenience store in the North Alabama area, has purchased Mega Mart – Radiant Group of Properties LLC – for $951,485.21.
According to management at Mega Mart, other than the name, there should be no noticeable changes.
West Tennessee Healthcare acquires property near Jackson-Madison County General Hospital
Property viewed as being in a strategic location at 191 Linda Vista Drive, has been purchased for $182,000 by West Tennessee Healthcare.
The announcement was made when the Board of Trustees of West Tennessee Healthcare held their monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.
Management determined the acquisition of the property would be of benefit to citizens of the Jackson-Madison County community, and would further promote the District’s purpose of providing quality healthcare to the community.
The Board also approved $470,000 of budgeted District funds to execute a purchase of an advanced radiotherapy system to provide radiation treatments for patients at the Kirkland Cancer Center.
The building, not the business – Wendy’s property at 1912 N. Highland Ave., sells for $2 million-plus
Restaurant Holdings LLC has sold 1912 North Highland Avenue – home to Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers – to HA Investments for $2,511,765.
In September, Restaurant Holdings LLC sold 873 Vann Drive – Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers – to WRG Realty LLC, for $2,232,143.
A few other commercial buildings sold recently include 174 Stonebrook Place to a growing list of sales of commercial buildings in Jackson and Madison County.
Stonebrook LLC sold 174 Stonebrook Place – which is occupied by Long John Silver’s – to Dean Stanton and Bernadette Stanton for $1,475,000, in August.
American Mattress occupies 742 Vann Drive – a property owned by McCall Development, which sold to Ernest Thomas Properties, a Mississippi Limited Partnership for $1,280,000, in June.
KFC, 2051 North Highland Avenue – Gelman Family Horizons LLC sold to JRN Inc., for $1,457,500, in November, 2017.
In October 2017, Frauenshuh Hospitality Group of TN LLC sold its facility at 808 Vann Drive, to Michael Sarlo TR etal Lory Sarlo TR Atlantis Trust for $1,064,112.
West Tennessee Healthcare purchases LiFT for $2 million-plus
West Tennessee Healthcare has purchased the LiFT Wellness Center at 101 Jackson Walk Plaza.
The announcement was made when the Board of Trustees of West Tennessee Healthcare held their monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.
Jeff Blankenship, Chief Financial Officer, presented a resolution to the board to purchase the LIFT Wellness Center.
The Board approved the resolution to purchase the building at a $2.3 million. The amount was planned and included in the Fiscal Year 2019 capital budget.
West Tennessee Healthcare has been leasing the building since construction to operate the wellness center, clinic, and outpatient therapy services.
October marks seven years since the beginning of construction and the completion of one component of financing for the project, provided to benefit community development efforts.
The event provides an opportunity for West Tennessee Healthcare to purchase the building.
Since West Tennessee Healthcare provided another component of the financing originally, the cash required to purchase the building is reduced by the amount owed back to West Tennessee Healthcare.
Jeremy Walls named West Tennessee Healthcare employee of the month
Although he was unable to receive the award in person when the West Tennessee Healthcare Board of Trustees met Tuesday, Jeremy Walls has been named the organization’s October’s employee of the month.
NOTE: He will be recognized when the Board of Trustees meet in November.
An employee at West Tennessee Healthcare for 27 years, Jeremy is asked to a lot of things in the radiology department and is always willing to help.
According to a press release, Jeremy takes excellent care of patients, listens to his staff, and is always willing to help them.
Jeremy is compassionate and caring with his patients and coworkers.
He is a deacon in his church, a master trainer in all computer functions for West Tennessee Healthcare, and is viewed as someone who has an awesome personality and goes above and beyond with a smile.
His coworkers describe him as a jokester and excellent resource. He is very well prepared for any crisis and stays up to date on new techniques and standards.
Tacos 4 Life holds grand opening on Vann Drive
Following a soft opening Monday, Tacos 4 Life Grill, a Christian organization that offers a unique concept – 22 cents of each taco sold goes toward feeding the hungry around the world – has opened at 1481 Vann Drive.
The 3,900-square-foot facility is located next door to Robinson Toyota.
Restaurant hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays.
The restaurant is closed on Sundays.
Founded by Austin and Ashton Samuelson in Conway, Arkansas, franchises are located in Conway (2), Fayetteville, Little Rock, Benton and Searcy.
Besides Tennessee, the company is expanding into Texas and North Carolina.
Captain D’s opens at 1761 South Highland Avenue
Chad and Nicole Vaughn from Waverly, opened Captain D’s, 1761 South Highland Avenue, Tuesday.
“We chose Jackson, because (area) is so diverse, and things are growing here so rapidly,” Chad said, “We have about a 2,000-square-foot restaurant with seating for 52, and we hope you come to see us soon.”
Restaurant hours are 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays.
Headquartered in Nashville, Captain D’s owns, operates and franchises restaurants in 20 states.
Captain D’s restaurants serve a wide variety of fish and seafood, including freshly prepared entrees, and the company’s signature hand-battered fish fillets, which are prepared to order.
