New restaurant scheduled to open at former Applebee’s location
A date has not been set, but owners of a popular restaurant in Cordova are scheduled to open Te’kila Mexican Bar & Grill at 155 Stonebrook Place in West Towne Commons.
Brothers Jose and Alex Gomez, who opened their first Te’kila Mexican Bar & Grill at 1335 N. Germantown Parkway in Cordova, have sub-leased 155 Stonebrook Place from its former tenant, Applebee’s.
The owners could not be reached for comment, but Te’kila Mexican Bar & Grill is described as “a festive, family-friendly restaurant serving up an authentic Mexican dining experience that’ll make any meal feel like a celebration.”
The building, not the business – Wendy’s property on Vann Drive sells for $2 million-plus
Restaurant Holdings LLC has sold the property at 873 Vann Drive – Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers – to WRG Realty LLC, 873 Vann Drive, for $2,232,143.
A few other commercial buildings sold recently include 174 Stonebrook Place to a growing list of sales of commercial buildings in Jackson and Madison County.
Stonebrook LLC sold 174 Stonebrook Place – which is occupied by Long John Silver’s – to Dean Stanton and Bernadette Stanton for $1,475,000, in August.
American Mattress occupies 742 Vann Drive – a property owned by McCall Development, which sold to Ernest Thomas Properties, a Mississippi Limited Partnership for $1,280,000, in June.
KFC, 2051 North Highland Avenue – Gelman Family Horizons LLC sold to JRN Inc., for $1,457,500, in November, 2017.
In October 2017, Frauenshuh Hospitality Group of TN LLC sold its facility at 808 Vann Drive, to Michael Sarlo TR etal Lory Sarlo TR Atlantis Trust for $1,064,112.
Humboldt businessman buys 5 McDonald’s restaurants in Jackson
The five McDonald’s restaurants in Jackson have been sold to Jeff Gamble from Humboldt.
The restaurants located at 1915 N. Highland Ave., 1705 S. Highland Ave., 16 Stonebrook Place, 20 Chloe Place and 1918 Highway 45 Bypass, were purchased from Fred Tillman, owner of Century Management LLC, in Memphis.
Gamble, who could not be reached for comment, also owns McDonald’s restaurants in Humboldt, Medina, Bells, Brownsville and Corinth, Mississippi.
Express Signs, Printing & Shipping earns small business of the year award
Express Printing, Signs and Shipping, 124 E. Baltimore St., has earned the Southwest Tennessee Development District 2018 Small Business of the Year award.
The award was one of several presented during the Southwest Tennessee Development District’s annual meeting and awards dinner.
“Susan Stewart and daughter Brandy opened the doors to Express Printing, Signs, and Shipping in downtown Jackson, Aug. 8, 2008,” said Teresa Sanders, SWTDD’s loan officer. “Four years ago, SWTDD’s business loan program provided these two with equipment financing, allowing them to provide more in-house services and eliminate expensive outsourcing.”
Express Printing, Signs and Shipping specializes in aluminum signs, plastic yard signs, vinyl window graphics for storefronts and vehicles, business forms, letterhead, envelopes and business cards, graphic design for marketing materials, brochures, postcards, and flyers; photo enlargements, and wide format printing of posters and banners. Former Kmart location purchased by Phoenix real estate company for $2 million-plus
The property Kmart vacated at 732 Old Hickory Blvd., in October, 2017, has been sold to Amerco, a real estate company in Phoenix, Arizona.
JKM Corporation sold the property to Amerco Real Estate Company for $2,825,000.
Amerco announced in July, the 94,500-square-foot facility will be converted to a U-Haul center, offering truck and trailer rental, interior heating and climate controlled self-storage and U-Box storage.
Additional storage buildings will be constructed on the east side of the lot, which consists of 9.83 acres.
Kmart first opened at 732 Old Hickory Blvd., in early 1970, and closed in October, 2017.
Special occasion beer permits issued to Redemption Road Rescue & Brew Fest
The City of Jackson Beer Board issued two special occasion permits and approved three business requests for permits during its monthly meeting in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, Tuesday.
Joe J. Collins was approved for a special occasion permit to sell, store and serve beer at a fundraising event for Redemption Road Rescue Inc., which will be held at the Suites of Larue Garden, 416 East Lafayette Street, Sept. 28.
Roger Vestal of Forever Communications was approved for a special occasion permit to sell, store and serve beer at the 10th annual Brew Fest, which will be held at Jackson Fairgrounds Park, 800 South Highland Avenue, Oct. 27.
Timothy Dodd was approved for a permit to sell, store and distribute beer for consumption off the premises at a business known as East Chester Mart, 1625 East Chester Street.
Narinder Singh was approved for a permit to sell, store and distribute beer for consumption off the premises at a business known as Oil Well Food Mart, LLC, 230 Oil Well Road.
Yasmina Avilez was approved for a permit to sell, store and distribute beer for consumption off the premises at a business known as New York Farmer Deli, 1647 North Royal Street.
