Little Caesars ‘Love Kitchen’ makes appearance at RIFA
Lunch at the Regional Inter-Faith Association’s Soup Kitchen came courtesy of Little Caesars Love Kitchen, Friday, when the nationally known pizza company rolled onto the parking lot with a 45-foot tractor trailer.
“We are very blessed to be able to serve at RIFA – offering pizzas for all those in need,” Kevin Colbert said. “We are very fortunate to have the Love Kitchen come down. The Love Kitchen travels across the United States helping others in natural disasters or wherever there is opportunity to serve those who are less fortunate.”
Kevin Colbert, owner of eight Little Caesars restaurants in the Jackson market, his daughter Isabella Colbert and Lily Vanravenswaay, delivered the pizzas after they were baked on site in the Love Kitchen.
The Love Kitchen was created in 1985, and former U.S. Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton awarded the President’s Volunteer Action Award Citation to Little Caesars for its volunteers’ contributions to the Little Caesars Love Kitchen.
Little Caesars also received a Presidential Citation for Private Sector Initiatives for the Love Kitchen program under the Reagan administration.
“The Kitchen is on the road seven days a week,” Kevin said. “We have 60 pizzas, and we’ll serve 200 people, and we are really excited about being here.”
