In case you missed it, here’s a look back at a few business highlights for the past week.
New retail/office development for Thomsen Farms
A new retail/office development is under construction at 1363 Union University Drive in Thomsen Farms.
FirstChoice Property & Development is constructing the strip center, which will be approximately 14,000-square-feet.
FirstChoice is looking at mid-spring for a completion date.
Checkers & Rally’s Drive-In opening on Carriage House Drive in May
Checkers & Rally’s Drive-In Restaurants, Inc., one of the largest chains of double drive-thru
restaurants in the United States is scheduled to open at 620 Carriage House Drive, in late May, 2018.
A few of the menu items include, hamburgers, fries, hot dogs, chicken, fish, wings, ice cream and soft drinks.
Hayes Construction is building the 1,000-square-foot facility between Logan’s Roadhouse and O’Charley’s Restaurant.
Outback Steakhouse receives exterior facelift
Outback Steakhouse, 194 Stonebrook Place, which opened in 1995, has received a facelift on the exterior of the restaurant.
“It definitely needed to be done,” said Ian Insalaco, Outback manager in Jackson, said. “We look at ourselves as being a gate-keeper for those going to Thomsen Farms, because people drive by us everyday on their way to Thomsen Farms.”
Ian said the exterior received new signage and landscaping.
“You won’t notice any change inside the restaurant,” Ian said. “But we did add new kitchen equipment and walk-in coolers.”
Restaurant hours at Outback Steakhouse are 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday.
Jack’s Family Restaurant headed for South Highland Avenue
Details are unavailable, but Jack’s Family Restaurant has its eyes on south Jackson.
The fast-food chain restaurant, known for burgers, fries and milkshakes, has acquired property at 1648 South Highland Ave., which is between Wendy’s and the Madison South Shopping Plaza.
Jack’s opened it first location in Jackson, at 157 Parkstone Place on 1.31 acres near the West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex in November, 2016.
One year later, Jack’s opened its second restaurant in Jackson at 3180 North Highland Avenue, which is between a Circle K Convenience Store and the Community Bank.
