Le Bonheur Children’s Outpatient Center opens

Le Bonheur Children’s Outpatient Center, 1535 Vann Drive, held its grand opening with a ribbon cutting and tour of the new 30,000-square-foot facility, Wednesday.

The new center offers 20 examination rooms, and a variety of diagnostic services including lab, X-ray, untrasound, EKG, EEG, ECHO and pulmonary function testing.

Subspecialty Clinics include cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, genetics, nephrology, neurology, pulmonology and urology, with access to more subspecialists at Le Bonheur via telemedicine.

A dedicated space is available for families to connect with a wide range of pediatric subspecialists.

Diane Rushing, director of West Tennessee pediatrics said Le Bonheur has about 40 employees.

Business hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

WTH Foundation presents checks to Kirkland Cancer Center and Ayers Children’s Medical Center

Frank McMeen, president of the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation, and Beth Koffman, who serves as vice president of the Foundation, joined representatives from the Foundation’s board and presented a check for $57,500 to the Kirkland Cancer Center, and $57,500 to the Ayers Children’s Medical Center, Tuesday.

The funds were raised in conjunction with the Foundation’s 28th annual Charity Gala, which was held in November, 2017, and presented during the West Tennessee Healthcare’s Board of Trustees monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Kenny Robertson selected as WTH employee of the month

Kenny Robertson, an 18-year employee at West Tennessee Healthcare, is the organization’s first recipient of the employee of the month award for 2018.

Kenny works in environmental services at 1804 U.S. Highway 45 Bypass.

According to those he works with, Kenny has a cheerful and positive attitude, always smiling, is considerate, humble, a good listener, and making others laugh, while often performing duties not included in his responsibilities.

Tim Adams, vice president, hospital services, and David Evans, director of environmental services, made the presentation when the Board of Trustees of West Tennessee Healthcare held their monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.

“He does things that are not just his normal duties … after hours, Kenny will escort people to their vehicles, carrying packages for them,” Adams said. “He really cares about the people he works with and those he serves.

“The employee of the month award is system wide, and it shows everyone’s efforts are recognized.”

Air Choice One offers direct flight to Atlanta from McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport

Air Choice One, which has offered air service to and from St. Louis on a daily basis from McKellar-Sipes Airport since 2015, is adding a new destination.

Atlanta.

“Air service out of Jackson is improving yet again,” said Kyle Spurgeon, president/CEO of the Jackson Chamber. “Now, effective March 1, you will can leave Jackson and fly directly to Atlanta. Atlanta opens up destinations, not only domestically but around the world … a more direct route to communities around the world.”

Spurgeon, who made his comments during a press conference at the Jackson Chamber, Tuesday, said the flight will be a bonus for manufacturers considering locating in Jackson and West Tennessee, while looking for a way to travel back and forth from Europe.

“In conversations with business professionals, a round-trip flight from Jackson to Atlanta was the most referenced business destination,” Spurgeon said. “Jackson will now able to offer one-stop flights, not only to more US destinations, but major cities around the world with service through Atlanta’s Hartsfield International Airport.”

Air Choice One will offer six flights – initially – out of McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Airline tickets will be available Feb. 4, at an introductory rate of $45.

Chick-fil-A owner/operator in Old Hickory Mall returning to New Jersey

Chick-fil-A in the Old Hickory Mall is under new management after Josh Maxwell had the opportunity to become the owner/operator at Chick-fil-A in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.

Jonathan Cardwell from Memphis becomes the new owner/operator of the Chick-fil-A in the Old Hickory Mall.

“We were here for about two years, and we had a great time,” Josh said. “We loved getting to know the community and the people … a lot of success at the mall during our time in Jackson.

“We are confident our time here in Jackson is what propelled us to be the operator in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey where we will start Thursday, Feb. 1.

“It’s pretty exciting. We’ll miss a lot of people here and the mall, but we’re excited for what we have in our future.”

Josh initiated a curbside pickup and drive through service at the Old Hickory Mall.

Originally from Albany, N.Y., Josh attended Philadelphia Biblical University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies.

He picked up his master’s degree at Cairn University in Langhorne, Pa., and he holds an MBA.

Josh and wife Corrie have six children: Joshua, Findley, twins Knox and Parker Rose, Hattie and newborn, Hazel.

Elizabeth Graves new NP at Tennova Walk-In Clinic – Thomsen Farms

Tennova Healthcare has named Elizabeth Graves as its new Nurse practitioner at Tennova Walk-In Clinic – Thomsen Farms, which is located at 1270 Union University Drive.

According to a press release, Graves specializes in caring for women, men, and children of all ages.
In addition to offering annual exams, sick visits, immunizations, and school and sports physicals, she has a special interest in preventive care and managing chronic conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and emphysema.

An advanced practice nurse, Graves earned her master’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

“I am committed to keeping families healthy—from health promotion and disease prevention to direct care and counseling across the lifespan,” Graves said. “I have cared for children, teens, adults and seniors in West Tennessee for more than 10 years. And I am very excited for the opportunity to offer family-focused care at Tennova.”

She joins fellow Nurse practitioners Fred Sesti and Lindsay Crocker, who also see primary care patients and walk-ins at Tennova Walk-In Clinic – Thomsen Farms.

The Walk-In Clinic offers extended office hours, including evening and Saturday appointments.
