Construction continues on new dental office near Lifeline Blood Services
Without any delays, Mid-South Dental Implant and Oral Surgery Center is scheduled to move to a new facility at 937 Walker Road – near Lifeline Blood Services – by early fall.
Owned by Dr. Keith Taylor, the 8,500-square-foot office is being built by Fisher Construction Company of Milan.
Mid-South Dental Implant and Oral Surgery Center is located at 8 Medical Center Drive.
Waffle House heading for downtown Jackson
Waffle House makes its move to downtown Jackson at the corner of South Highland Avenue and East Chester Street.
The new location will be its fifth restaurant in Jackson.
Waffle House No. 4 is scheduled to open April 2, in Park Place East – between Taco Bell and Holiday Inn Express – off Dr. F.E. Wright Drive.
Waffle House has restaurants at 1724 South Highland Avenue, 2314 North Highland Avenue and 24 Casey Jones Lane.
Jackson Symphony set to announce 2018-2019 schedule, April 6
Artistic Director and Conductor, Peter Shannon, along with the Jackson Symphony will announce their 2018-2019 Season Concert Series with a press conference in The Carl Perkins Civic Center lobby, 5 p.m., Friday, April 6, outside the Miss Tennessee Room.
According to a press release, the Jackson Symphony looks to build upon the momentum and excitement of this last season as they move forward into a new season full of powerful and enchanting music.
Following the press conference, the Jackson Symphony invites the public to be their guest at the orchestra’s open rehearsal as they prepare for the Classic Rock! Pops concert, April 7.
The Jackson Symphony staff and Board of Directors hope you will join them as they proudly announce their Classical, Pop, and Chamber Concert series for the upcoming year.
The Jackson Symphony was named the Non-profit of the Year during the Jackson Chamber’s 2017 Annual Celebration, March 15.
News fades fast about possible Kroger, Target merger
If you are looking for a merger between Kroger and Target – don’t.
That, according to news outlets, after word got out nationally that the two retailers would merge.
Excitement over a potential merger between Kroger (NYSE:KR) and Target (NYSE:TGT) headed south following news that the two companies are in discussions about a Shipt partnership.
Target acquired online grocery player Shipt in December for $550M.
Kroger stock jumped 12 percent plus on the merger news in pre-market trading, but finished the day down .11 cents at $23.28 per share, and Target fell $1.01 to finish at $67.88.
Kroger has three supermarkets in Jackson – Lynnwood Place Shopping Center, West Towne Commons and 35 West University Parkway.
Target is located in West Towne Commons.
New parking lot a necessity in Thomsen Farms
Construction work continues on a new parking lot in Thomsen Farms.
When complete, about 50 new spaces will be available for visitors to the Corner Boutique, Interiors Inc., Polished Salon and Tulum Fresh Mexican Grill at 1319 Union University Drive.
The new parking lot – constructed by FirstChoice Property & Development – will also assist visitors to CCSI – Computer Consulting Services, Conner Real Estate, Bliss Salon and Belle & Beau at 409 Walker Road.
The new parking lot can be accessed by employees at FedEx Trade Networks, which is also located at 409 Walker Road.
Coyote Blues closes
Coyotes Blues, 4 Stonebridge Blvd., officially closed Saturday.
While negotiating a lease for another location, Coyote Blues will continue to have a presence in Jackson with its Food Truck, and the company will also continue to cater.
FedEx Trade Networks bringing about 80 jobs to Thomsen Farms office
FedEx Trade Networks, the international freight forwarding arm of FedEx Corporation, has opened an office at 409 Walker Road in Thomsen Farms.
FedEx Trade Networks has leased 4,686-square-feet from Ann-Marie Kelley, FirstChoice Property & Development, and has about 48 employees on site.
The number is expected to grow to about 80 people – two shifts.
It should be noted the site is NOT a drop-off location.
According to its website, FedEx Trade Networks connects 95 percent of the world’s gross domestic product (GDP) with its comprehensive suite of solutions.
The company’s network of worldwide locations and alliances enables it to help customers of all sizes build solutions to fit their shipping needs, specializing in e-commerce, air and ocean freight forwarding, customs brokerage and other trade facilitation services.
