2 convenience stores cited in underage alcohol operation; 10 receive passing grades

Jackson Metro Narcotics conducted an underage alcohol operation March 31 – two convenience stores were cited for selling to underage informants, but 10 received a passing grade.

Renovations continue on Burlington retail store in West Towne Commons

Renovations continue on Burlington – formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory – at 85 Stonebrook Place in West Towne Commons.

The American national off-price department store retailer is scheduled to open the new retail store this fall.

The new retail business will occupy the entire 24,975 square foot facility located between Target and Kroger.

The building is being entirely renovated.

Renovations  include a new roof, new HVAC systems, and new front facade.

It is estimated Burlington will add approximately 30 new jobs to the community.

Burlington is a division of Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse Corporation with 740 stores in 40 states and Puerto Rico, with its corporate headquarters located in Burlington Township, New Jersey.

Shopping center district could be in future on Lower Brownsville Road at I40

A request to rezone property located at the 1320 Block of Lower Brownsville Road from Forestry Agriculture Recreation to Planned Shopping Center District passed its first hurdle following approval by the Jackson Municipal Regional Planning Commission.

The request was submitted by Quarter Sawn Properties, LLC, to rezone approximately 10 acres near Snider Equipment, LLC.
