Highlights from the February 2022 Labor Force Estimates:
The Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate for Tennessee decreased from 3.5 percent in January 2022 to 3.4 percent in February 2022.
During the same time period, the Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate for the United States decreased from 4.0 percent to 3.8 percent.
The unemployment rate decreased in all 95 counties.
Moore County had the lowest unemployment rate at 1.8 percent.
Cocke County had the highest unemployment rate at 6.3 percent.

Business Spotlight – Cole Murray joins Town & Country REALTORS
Town & Country REALTORS is excited to welcome Cole Murray to the company’s No. 1 residential sales team of agents.
According to a press release from Melissa Childress – executive director – Town and Country REALTORS – Cole isn’t a newcomer to the world of real estate. He brings with him vast experience in owning and managing real estate. Cole has grown up in and been around the business his entire life, whether through his mom, family business, or owning rental properties himself after graduating from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2016.
“Since being a part of the rental and investment side of real estate for the last few years, I have been eager to expand my expertise,” Murray said, “I’ve wanted to get into residential real estate ever since sitting down with some of my past rental clients and walking them through the buying process.”
Real estate runs in the family for Cole: his mother, Kelly, is already one of Town & Country’s most experienced agents. Cole decided to set his roots in Jackson since he was born and raised in this community.
“I love the people of Jackson and could never consider living anywhere else,” said Murray.
His family has lived in this community for over 100 years and has owned small businesses, such as Murray Guard, Inc., and Posh Lighting & Interiors.

Murray graduated from the University School of Jackson in 2012. He loves playing golf at Jackson Country Club and basketball at the LIFT Wellness Center.
West Tennessee Healthcare – Latrecia Owens named employee of the month
Latrecia Owens, an employee at West Tennessee Healthcare for 14 years, was named West Tennessee Healthcare’s employee of the month for March.
Latrecia – who works as a registered nurse in the Interventional Radiology Department, was presented the award when the Board of Trustees held their monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.
The presentation was made by Deann Thelan, vice president/CEO, Jackson-Madison County General Hospital; Jenny Morgan, Director, Interventional Radiology and Keith Garner, Executive Director, Radiology.
According to Amy Garner – West Tennessee Healthcare system vice president chief compliance & communications officer – her coworkers say she is a real asset and a blessing to them.
They all agree she could easily be an employee of the month any month of the year. She always personally recognizes everyone’s hard work and encourages her coworkers on a daily basis.

A new 9,800-square-foot strip center is under construction at 2100 Pleasant Plains Extension.
