According to the State of Tennessee, the January Labor Force Estimates data is always a bit later coming out because prior year data has to undergo annual revisions before January’s data can be produced.
Highlights from the January 2022 Labor Force Estimates:
The Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate for Tennessee decreased from 3.6 percent in December 2021 to 3.5 percent in January 2022.
During the same time period, the Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate for the United States increased from 3.9 percent to 4.0 percent.
The unemployment rate increased in all 95 counties.
Williamson County had the lowest unemployment rate at 2.2 percent.
Perry County had the highest unemployment rate at 9.2 percent.

Jackson Chamber announces Lindsay Dawkins as new vice president, investor relations
JACKSON, TENNESSEE – The Jackson Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the hiring of Lindsay Dawkins as the new vice president, investor relations.
According to a press release from Brittany Crockett – Social Media & Online Content, Adelsberger Marketing – Lindsay, a native of Mississippi, has called Jackson home since 2008.
She graduated from Union University with a degree in advertising and public relations and has over 10 years of experience in the marketing field.
A 2013 Leadership Jackson graduate and 2021 Leadership Carroll County graduate, Lindsay most recently served as the Director of Development for Annual Giving and Alumni Relations at Bethel University.
In this newly created Jackson Chamber position, Lindsay Dawkins will be responsible for coordinating relationships and communications with Forward Jackson investors, managing Forward Jackson events, managing internal and external communications, and supporting Blue Oval City community engagement projects.

Amy Morris named new American Heart Association Regional Director
Amy Morris has been named as the new Regional Director of the American Heart Association.
Morris joins the American Heart Association with a rich history of non-profit fundraising in West Tennessee.
She has previous experience at the American Cancer Society and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
A graduate of Union University, Amy resides with her family in Crockett County.
Her first event as Regional Director is Go Red for Women at the Carl Perkins Civic Center Thursday, March 24.
Copper Creek Apartment complex adding 144 units to north Jackson
Amy replaces Christy Futrell, who is now the Business Development Manager for the Heart Association.
A proposal for a new 144 unit apartment complex in Creek Stone Cove – south of Sterling Farms Cove – has been approved by the Jackson Municipal Regional Planning Commission.
Submitted by Buchanan Realty Group, the complex – which will consist of six- three-story buildings – will be constructed on approximately 6.59 acres.
The complex will offer 229 parking spaces.
