Clearloop to break ground on Jackson Solar Farm, September 2
Jackson, Tennessee – Clearloop, a solar startup co-founded by former Governor Phil Bredesen, announced that it has reached its goal to fund 1 million watts of brand new solar capacity in Jackson.
Clearloop will be joined by the companies whose pledge to cut their carbon footprint like Intuit and Material Bank, as well as local leaders and members of the Jackson community for a groundbreaking at 5 p.m., Thursday, September 2, at 2469 Technology Center Drive.
The outdoor community event will celebrate the Jackson community and showcase the power of clean investments in American communities otherwise getting left behind. Clearloop’s 1 megawatt solar farm, which will provide enough clean energy to power 200 homes, will help clean up the grid in a state that currently receives less than 1 percent of electricity from solar power.
Beyond the groundbreaking, the event will feature several community activities, including a Virtual Reality experience, BBQ and ice cream, and other fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. We will also invite members of the public to bury a time capsule to signify all of the things we want to make a relic of the past, including carbon.
