Former location of Victory Honda North, 531 Vann Drive, sells for $2 million +

Details are limited, but Clay Carlock Jr., has purchased 531 Vann Drive, from Cappo Real Estate Holdings LLC etal – Jeffrey E. Cappo TR, Jeffrey E. Cappo Irrevocable Trust for $2,257,817.50.

Clay Carlock owns Carlock Nissan of Jackson, which is next door to the property at 495 Vann Drive.

The location is a former home of Victory Honda North.

About 18 months after opening at 531 Vann Drive, Victory Honda closed its pre-owned dealership in November, 2019.

Victory Honda took possession of the 18,000-square-foot facility on Vann Drive after Gwatney Mazda of Jackson vacated the property – which consists of about three acres – in early 2018.

Great Wolf Lodge updated during Jackson Energy Authority’s Board of Directors monthly meeting

The Great Wolf Lodge highlighted the Jackson Energy Authority’s Board of Directors monthly meeting, Thursday.

“The Great Wolf Lodge project was discussed,” Monte Jones said, “This project has been approved for incentives by the State of Tennessee with an anticipated beginning date of Fall 2022. “Great Wolf Lodge will be finalizing plans and the city will then begin working with them to provide access to the property.”

Monte Jones is the chairman of the Board of Directors at Jackson Energy Authority.

The $150 million Great Wolf Lodge – a family resort – is scheduled to offer a 300-room hotel, with an indoor water park, restaurants, arcades and spas, and would create 500 jobs — 250 full-time and 250 part-time positions. An additional 500 construction jobs would be filled over the course of the project.

Great Wolf Lodge is looking at a roughly 40-acre site at the Tiger Jones Technology Park off Interstate 40 at exit 85 near the Ballpark at Jackson and West Tennessee Sportsplex.

Construction on the project has been moved to the second- or third quarter of 2022.

“JEA and Great Wolf Lodge have been working together on the proposed infrastructure to serve the facility” Jim Ferrell said, “We are looking forward to having Great Wolf Lodge in Jackson and this will be a great customer for JEA.”

Jim Ferrell is the chief executive officer at Jackson Energy Authority.

Ima’s closing on Vann Drive, June 12

Ima’s, a retailer that carries brand signature jewelry, accessories, leather handbags and more, is closing at 1355 Vann Drive.

The retailer is scheduled to close June 12.

Business hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Coco’s restaurant opens at 203 E. Lafayette Street

Coco’s, a new restaurant in downtown Jackson, has opened at 203 East Lafayette Street.

The site is the former home of The Bakers Rack.

With locations also in Medina – 204 North Main St. – and Martin – 1053 Old Fulton Road – Coco’s is best known for its homemade meals to go.

“We have breakfast daily, and we have hot lunch specials daily, and we also have homemade meals to go,” said owner Corrie Bradberry, “We start fresh everyday we have small meals that will feed a family of four and large meals that feed a family of six-to-eight.”

Breakfast items include Cinnamon rolls, scones, bagels, turnovers, muffins, bacon, egg & cheese biscuit, sausage, egg & cheese biscuit, chicken biscuit and ham biscuit.

“We also have coolers you can shop from,” Corrie said, “Food made fresh everyday. You can sit down and eat, and you can utilize our banquet room or party room.

“We have a catering room, and we do lots of weddings.”

Coco’s is open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturdays.

West Tennessee Healthcare – Kelly Barger named employee of the month

Kelly Barger, an employee at West Tennessee Healthcare for 13 years, was named the employee of the month for May.

She received the award during the West Tennessee Healthcare’s Board of Trustees monthly meeting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Tuesday.

The award was presented by WTH Vice President Currie Higgs. Charleyn Reviere is the Director, Office of General Counsel.

According to Amy Garner – West Tennessee Healthcare – Chief Compliance & Communications Officer – Kelly is a paralegal, and is recognized as incredibly knowledgeable, and is always interested in learning new things.

Her attitude, loyalty, and integrity are some of her greatest qualities.

She is always helpful to other departments, taking time to explain sometimes complex legal and litigation matters in a way that is understandable and reassuring.

She is an excellent teacher and is always willing to help teach other staff members when needed.

Kelly is a pleasure to work with, a real asset to West Tennessee Healthcare, and very deserving of this recognition. Thank you for everything you do!

Boutique Air becomes new commercial carrier at McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport, June 1

Boutique Air, an airline based in San Francisco becomes the new commercial carrier for McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport, June 1.

Current provider Air Choice One has provided airline service for the past 5 1/2 years to Atlanta and St. Louis.

The change to Boutique Air includes daily service to Atlanta, Georgia, and St. Louis.
