Chick-fil-A building new restaurant in Jackson
Chick-fil-A is adding a new location in Jackson.
The Jackson Municipal Planning Commission approved the request for the southwest corner of North Highland Avenue and Tinker Hill Road.
The location is a section of land near the Old Hickory Mall.
The restaurant will consist of 4,759 square feet located on a 1.42 acre lot, with 52 parking spaces.
Chick-fil-A has three locations in Jackson – 3 Stonebridge Boulevard, Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and inside the Old Hickory Mall, 2021 North Highland Avenue.
Former Steak ‘n Shake building demolished on Vann Drive to make way for new restaurant
The building that was home to Steak ‘n Shake has been demolished, but according to a developer at the site who asked to remain anonymous, Chipotle Mexican Grill will open a new restaurant at the 883 Vann Drive location.
Telephone calls to Chipotle were not returned.

According to the Multiple Listing Service, new construction homes sold in April was 4 compared to 8 in March.
Number of homes sold in March – 100.
Number of active listings in April – which includes all of Madison County – stood at 62, compared to 63 in March.
Average days on the market in April was 15, compared to 26 in March.
Average days on the market – January 1 through April 30 was 23.
Median sales price from January 1 through April 30 was $175,500, compared to $184,900 – January 1 through March 31.
Jackson Beer Board approves 1 special occasion, 2 business permits during monthly meeting
The Jackson Beer Board approved one special occasion permit and two business permits during their monthly meeting at City Hall, Tuesday.
Dave Bratcher was approved for a special occasion – Dancing with the STARs – permit to sell, store and serve at the Jackson Fairgrounds.
Sponsored by the STAR Center and presented by Leaders Credit Union, the 5th Annual Dancing with the STARs – was held, Thursday.
Terance Jones, Wing Bar 731, 581 Old Hickory Blvd., was approved for a business permit to sell, store and serve on the premises where sold.
Adrian Sanders, Notes Bistro & Bar, 89 Raindrop Cove, was approved for a business permit to sell, store and serve on the premises where sold.
