Macy’s closing in Old Hickory Mall

According to published reports, Macy’s is closing in the Old Hickory Mall.

The store is scheduled to close April 30.

A day after confirming more stores would close, the department store chain Wednesday revealed a new round of store closures. Macy’s, Inc. which also runs Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury, identified the Jackson location as one of the 36 namesake stores and one Bloomingdale’s expected to shutter by or before midyear. The company also listed nine stores that recently closed.

The string of closures are part of Macy’s three-year plan to close one-fifth of its stores or roughly 125 locations, which was first announced in February 2020, before the coronavirus pandemic led to temporary store closures starting in mid-March.
