Manufacturing facility announces $3.3 million expansion in Humboldt
(Humboldt, Tenn.) — Reinhausen Manufacturing Inc. (RM), a subsidiary of Germany-based Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen, today announced it will expand its facilities in Humboldt, Tennessee to increase production capacity by 25 percent.
Reinhausen Manufacturing Inc. is located at 2549 North 9th Avenue in Humboldt.
This move will allow RM to meet increased demand for materials required for digitalization of the U.S. power grid, including an exciting new product line — RM’s enhanced digital solution portfolio, ETOS (Embedded Transformer Operating System).
Groundbreaking for the $3.3 million investment will take place by the end of 2023, with anticipated completion in early 2024.
The aged and vulnerable U.S. power grid requires critical upgrades. Efforts are underway to digitalize the grid, but long lead times for necessary materials cause delays, putting the power supply at further risk. The RM plant expansion in Tennessee is a necessary step toward supporting those critical upgrades by meeting the demand.
250-unit upscale apartment complex part of mixed-use development in Sterling Farms
Construction continues on a new 250-unit upscale apartment complex in Sterling Farms, off the U.S. Highway 45 Bypass (Frontage Road, Sterling Farms Drive) near LIFELINE Blood Services.
The 2-and-3 story complex will consist of 20 acres and feature 1-2 & 3 bedroom apartments with garages, a clubhouse and swimming pool.
Offered by Chris Carothers – Hickman Realty Group – the apartment complex is part of a mixed-use development that will consist of 20 acres with an additional 40 acres targeted for medical, retail, and senior living facilities.
240-unit apartment complex under construction in Smith Farms
Construction continues on a new 240-unit apartment complex in Smith Farms off the U.S. Highway 45 Bypass (Frontage Road, Sterling Farms Drive) near LIFELINE Blood Services.
The complex will feature nine, 1-2 & 3 bedroom residential buildings, with garages, a clubhouse and swimming pool.
Owned by Banner Properties in Nashville, Hannah Constructors is the lead contractor for the project.
New business opening at former location of Old Hickory Steak House, Village Inn Pizza Parlor
Property once home to the Old Hickory Steak House and the Village Inn Pizza Parlor is being converted to an automobile dealership.
Amar Al-Jafari is opening Cars Select at 624 Old Hickory Boulevard.
“I have had numerous positions in Jackson since 1990,” Al-Jafari said, “I knew Old Hickory (Boulevard) and the (U.S. Highway 45) bypass had good, good traffic – a good area. We’re like in the heart of Jackson.”
Al-Jafari also operated a dealership at the former location of Market Fresh Produce at 330 Hollywood Drive.
“We carry from the budget cars to the most expensive cars, and we’ve done very well,” Al-Jafari said, “It was time to upgrade, and we came to this side of town, and we’re going to have a line of trucks, SUVs, and we’re looking to add electric car chargers and bring in some of the electric cars.”
Al-Jafari hopes to open the dealership in December with a grand-opening in January 2024.
Amar Al-Jafari, Siham Al Jafari and Abdelhakim Elayan purchased 624 Old Hickory Boulevard from Tom Ifantis and Robin R. Ifantis, owners of the Old Hickory Steak House, for $300,000.
The Old Hickory Steak House was destroyed by fire in November 2021, and the structure was demolished, July 18, 2022.
Fast food restaurant adding second Jackson location
The consideration of a preliminary site plan in Park Place West for a new Captain D’s, has been approved by the Jackson Municipal Regional Planning Commission.
Scheduled for the corner of Chloe Place and Lizzie Anna Cove off Ridgecrest Road Extended, the plan was submitted by SMPO LLC.
The restaurant will be the second Captain D’s in Jackson.
Captain D’s, 1761 South Highland Avenue, which consists of approximately 2,000-square-feet with seating for 52, opened Oct. 30, 2018.
Headquartered in Nashville, Captain D’s owns, operates and franchises restaurants in 20 states.
Captain D’s restaurants serve a wide variety of fish and seafood, including freshly prepared entrees, and the company’s signature hand-battered fish fillets, which are prepared to order.
